The Base of Impact Global Strategy
Impact International means what its title suggests. It is an
international organization.
To be truly international (not an easy task), the structure
of the organization must be carefully planned.
Currently the board of Impact is comprised of three
Americans, one European and one African. The future of Impact International
rests with the fact that it is unlikely that more Americans will be added to
the deciding body, but rather the international flavor will be extended by
including other nationalities as board participants.
With the return to Zimbabwe
of board member Ngwiza Mnkandla, the dynamic of Impact will shift somewhat to
center on Zimbabwe
as the nation at the center of the Impact strategy of global transformation.Ngwiza returns to Africa
to wear multi-hats as he pursues his God assignment.Along with serving Impact to further the
transformation model, he is the President of DAWN Africa – his passion to plant
churches and disciple nations. DAWN fits well into the Impact model, as a local
church is the center of any community transformation.Ngwiza also serves as an overseer with Faith
Ministries (the ministry founded by Alastair in 1976). Faith Ministries today
has grown into an effective ministry with a large number of churches, but also
the church leadership are well positioned to see national transformation
through their already successful businesses.
There are plans underway in Zimbabwe to develop a leadership
training center with the key participation of Shingi Munyeza spearheading the
effort and Ngwiza participating as a teaching leader to the program. Impact has
requested it participate in the center and offer ‘schools’ of leadership in
biblical entrepreneurship, agriculture, health etc. This center would be the
global place for Impact partners to learn how to take the Impact model and
duplicate it in their own respective communities and nations.
Zimbabwe
is strategically placed within the global community. It is accessible from
Europe, America and Asia. It sits in the center of Africa and although
landlocked it has a shared border with South Africa, a strategic neighbor
to the south. Already Impact is participating in a community development
project in Zambia which also
shares a border with Zimbabwe
to the north.
The church leadership in Zimbabwe is strong and mature. Its
leadership is respected worldwide. Christian leaders in Zimbabwe in
general and Faith Ministries in particular have in their ranks men and women
who are spiritual giants.The national
church leadership are not only qualified spiritually, they are among the
smartest intellectuals in the nation.Faith Ministries has among its leaders medical doctors, dentists,
hoteliers, farmers, bankers, entrepreneurs, board executives, company owners,
doctors of psychology and more.
Impact has a strong relationship with Faith Ministries and
the above mentioned leadership and naturally wishes to leverage this
relationship for the good of the mission and vision – the legacy continues
through a new generation and many of them are Zimbabwean.
